From now till 31st December, ION Orchard gives Carte Blance to Bvlgari: The Roman jeweler creates an air of la dolce vita in Singapore, dressing the mall in the colours of its latest creations, as well as cinema-themed limited editions.
In an explosive theme inspired by the Italian cinema of the 1960s that contributed to Bvlgari’s glory at the time, a pop-up store has been installed in the form of a colourful, enchanting and picturesque carousel. To plunge visitors into this extraordinary world, a reproduction of the door from the Via Condotti boutique in Rome shows the way to the Italian capital.
DOLCE VITA, PURA VITA
Bvlgari is the jeweller of colour and audacity. A sunny, instinctive audacity that draws from its heritage, a modern and authentic source of creation. In the 1960s, Bvlgari’s Via Condotti boutique at the heart of the eternal city attracted the greatest Hollywood stars who visited it the moment they set down their luggage at Cinecittà Studios. It marked the beginning of a new romance between the jeweller and stars of the silver screen: Kirk Douglas, Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra and, of course, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Burton even said of his co-star in Cleopatra, “the only word Elizabeth knows in Italian is Bvlgari!” With its multifaceted yet singular identity, Bvlgari cultivates the unexpected and combines colours and forms in a harmonious yet surprising manner. Like an alchemist it transforms its own history, rendering it all the more modern and enchanting. The Dolce Vita has never left the jeweler and is reinterpreted for this occasion through the filter of the cinema, which it casts in the starring role.
POP (UP) CORN
A colourful carousel lit by a row of lights, the Bvlgari Pop (Up) Corn was created by Bvlgari’s interior design teams, keeping in mind the aesthetics of a fun space that blends the visual codes of cinema with those of the Roman jeweler. It is also a prelude to the opening of the new Bvlgari ION store in December.
In this animated space, the projectors are turned towards the limited editions in jewellery, watches and leather goods. Gathered together in a single setting, they illustrate the harmony found between the House’s collections, one of the signatures of Bvlgari. Popcorn is the main character in this festival, taking on the leading role in ceramic form.
COME CLOSE, THE SHOW IS ABOUT TO BEGIN
The internal windows are dressed in light and take top billing. Plunging the public into the world of cinema, they play with shapes, colours and rules with mischief and refinement. You can spot the two-tone stripes of popcorn boxes, make out the rectangular shape of a ticket stub, and be dazzled by the brilliant neon lights. Serpenti bags sit among the audience, jewellery pieces and watches lie in popcorn machines, and Divas’ Dream and Serpenti bags perform a show but make no mistake: the limited editions are the real stars of these poetic, enchanted window displays, such as the ION-only exclusive Bvlgari-Bvlgari necklace and matching bracelet in rose gold and sugilite and Serpenti handbags in calf leather. These limited editions are available from 1 October.
